Investments and Improvements |

- We are restoring the former
Halcyon Manor on Bay Avenue to
serve as our new recreation
center for both senior and youth
programs. Opening in spring
2012. |

- We rebuilt the
60 year-old swimming pool at the
Patchogue Beach Club, a $750,000
improvement project. |
|
- We received a
$15,000 New York State Tree
Grant which will allow us to
plant additional trees in
residential neighborhoods and in
our downtown. |

- A new, Americans with
Disabilities Act compliant
playground at Shorefront Park
was built with a $75,000 New
York State grant and $40,000 in
private funding raised by the
Friends of Shorefront Park. We
have secured funding from the
developer of Bay Village Condos
and Village Square to provide a
match to a grant so we can
complete Phase II of the
playground project. |

- A new band shell at Shorefront
Park was built with funds
secured through a $450,000
Community Development Agency
grant. |

- We have upgraded and
expanded recreation programs. |

Other Accomplishments Since
2004 |
|
- Renovated, expanded and
modernized Village Hall. |
|
- We updated and re-codified our
Village codes to better reflect
our changing times. |

- Purchased $1 million dollars
worth of much needed new
equipment for the Departments of
Public Works and Parks and
Recreation. |
|
- The Village received a
$360,000 New York State Shared
Services Grant for a Vac-All
Truck for storm drain cleaning
and a bucket truck. This
equipment is shared with the
Village of Bellport. The village
hosts the Great South Bay Music
Festival at Shorefront Park, one
of the largest and most
successful festivals on the East
Coast. |

The Village of Patchogue has
been recognized as one of the
most progressive villages on
Long Island by; Long Island
Index, Long Island Housing
Partnership, Sustainable Long
Island, the Regional Planning
Association and Vision Long
Island. |
|
- Mayor Pontieri has been
appointed to a number of
prestigious organizations,
including the Long Island
Regional Planning Council. He is
the Governor's appointee to the
Suffolk County Community College
Board of Trustees and is a
member of the Long Island
Community Foundation, Executive
Board Member of the New York
Conference of Mayors and past
President of the Suffolk County
Village Officials Association. |
